2024-2025 CONFIRMATION DATES

Confirmation Prep Classes will take place on the 1st Sunday of the month from 3:00pm-4:30pm, except in September (Family Night), December (Thanksgiving Break), and an additional session in April (Night of Mercy). 

Parent Attendance is required on October 6th.

Sponsor Attendance is required for Night of Mercy (April 27th) and the Rehearsal (May 4th). Sponsors that live out of town are exempt from these requirements. However, Confirmandi are responsible for following up with their sponsors after the Night of Mercy and Rehearsal. Further instructions will be provided.

Sunday, October 6th, 2024 - Session 1 of Confirmation Prep at 3:00pm-4:30pm in New Legacy - Parent Attendance RequiredCopy of Baptismal Certificate/Sacramental Record Due

Sunday, November 3rd, 2024 - Session 2 - announcement of Confirmation Mass date and time

Sunday, December 8th, 2024 - Session 3 - second Sunday of the month & Sponsor Selection Due 

Sunday, January 5th, 2025 - Session 4

Sunday, February 2nd, 2025 - Session 5 & Patron Saint Selection Due

Sunday, March 2nd, 2025 - Session 6

Friday, March 7th - Sunday, March 9th - Spring Retreat

*retreat attendance is required for all candidates based on the recommendations of the Archdiocese. Please contact our office with questions or concerns.

Sunday, April 6th, 2025 - Session 7 & Service Hours Due

Sunday, April 27th, 2025 - Night of Mercy at 6:30-8:00pm in the Main Sanctuary - Sponsor Attendance Required

Sunday, May 4th, 2025 - Session 8: tentative Rehearsal for Confirmation Mass

May or April* 2025 - Celebration of the Sacrament of Confirmation

*In the event of an April Confirmation date, the rehearsal will take place on April 6th, April 27th and May 4th will still be mandatory for teens to attend, but not Sponsors. 

 

ATTENDANCE POLICY

Attendance is required for all Confirmation Prep classes, only ONE excused absence is permitted. In order for an absence to be considered excused, advance notice is required (e.g. email, phone call, voicemail to youth ministry staff). Make-up assignments will be required for missed classes. Upon a candidate's second absence, youth ministry staff will contact the candidate's parents to discuss their readiness for the Sacrament. 

Candidates must also participate in Life Teen Sessions this year on the weeks that there is no Confirmation class. Advance notice is not necessary for missing Life Teen.

SUBMISSION OF FORMS

All forms can be submitted to our office by emailing them to Maritza at mshreffler@stmarkevangelist.com. They can also be dropped off during Sunday Sessions in the white lockbox directly outside of the youth ministry office.
